About The Author

Vishnu Mithinti

The author is a qualified Engineer, an ex-defence officer, a Life Skills Trainer, a Motivational Speaker, and now, a third time Author. Two of his earlier books, ‘Love - Lost & Found,’ (Fiction) and ‘Deception on Westminster Bridge, London’ (Non-fiction), are out on the stands.

In Apr 2021, he had the most unwelcome visitor of those days, COVID-19, at his home in Hyderabad, India. That was the second wave, and there were hardly any houses where it didn’t visit. While the rest of the members at his home escaped its full wrath, he wasn’t that lucky. He landed up in an ICU and stayed there for 13 agonising days, seeing death right in front of his eyes at least four times. He knocked at the door of death but returned when it didn’t open. What shook him most was the pathetic state of a young teenage girl who was hooked up to various life support equipment for four days until she gave up. She was then wrapped in a plastic bag and disposed of like any life-expired item. He shuddered at the thought of his fate turning to be the same. Can death be more horrific than this? And millions across the world faced a similar fate. Humanity! What have you done to yourself? He thought. Is there a way out of this? A redemption? In his state of agony, he retrospected and introspected and penned down his thoughts. That is ‘Covid-19 & Humanity – A (Retro) – Introspection.

  • "This book gives a rather unique insight on the COVID 19 and how it shook up the humans leaving them in a world of paranoia. Part 1 gives the horrible state the whole world was in through personal experience of the author on what he saw and what he couldn't forget and part 2 gives a reality check on the current state of world and how this couldve been or can be avoided through a more sustainable way of living -- "vasudhaiva kutumbakam”"

  • "A 100 year later if someone wants research history about Covid 19 Pandemic and how the world dealt with it, I am sure this illustrative book will be pretty handy reference. I loved how the way the book is organized to give a comprehensive coverage, yet in small and quick read chapters. Reading Part-1 of the book was like hovering in the sky, unaffected by the virus and being able to watch and experience the human ordeal & the emotions. Part-2 focusses introspection, root causes and how the humanity can lean on the age old Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam to ensure food, health, prosperity and peace on the stong pillars of Dharma."

  • "COVID-19 and Humanity – A Retro-Introspection by Vishnu Mithinti is a heartfelt look back at the pandemic—both the chaos it caused and the deeper questions it raised about humanity. The book blends personal experience (including the author’s own near-death encounter with COVID) with reflections on how we, as a global community, responded. What makes it stand out is the call for unity through the idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“the world is one family.” It’s thoughtful, emotional, hopeful and ends with a powerful message: we either learn from this—or repeat it. The creative cover page depicts it all."
